Jazz pianist and singer Diane Schuur is returning to Tucson for the 29th Annual Primavera: Celebration of Women in Jazz Concert this Saturday night at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort.

Schuur, who goes by the nickname “Deedles,” will be performing with the Jeff Daniels Group. This pairing was a regular feature of the Tucson Jazz Society’s jazz showcase in the late 1970s and it’s a well welcomed return to the Tucson jazz scene.

Schuur’s new album, “Some Other Time,” was released in the U.S. in February and includes jazz standards like “Danny Boy,” which Jazztimes.com calls one of her finest performances.

The concert begins at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 29th at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort, 7000 N. Resort Drive.
